Freerolls can be profitable, just have to get used to the donks.

I will play a freeroll as long as its not a lot of players. I have no desire to be in the middle of an all in fest. The ones with fewer people tend to have a few donks but mostly the players have a mental thing about being closer to the final table and play accordingly. Now I have also found that forum buyins have good players but many of the bigger site bjuyins have many idiots regardless of the cost of the buyin.

Freerolls are great for playing and meeting people...it's also a chance to build a little bank roll if your lucky enough...just beware that most sites require that you make a deposit before you think about withdrawing your winnings..but not all,one site I had $30.00 in freeroll money and they let me withdraw $25.00 from it..from there I deposited into the other sites one at a time and withdrew all my winnings into moneybookers..I tried to deposit from my bank to moneybookers but the Canadian banks wants far to much for a wire transfer..so there are other ways..

Sometimes I will play a freeroll like I am in a cash tourney and fold every hand just about. Then other times I get bored or there are ten thousand people so pick a spot and go all-in!

you don't need to deposit to play in freerolls but sometimes it's impossible to get any money won withdrawn. often the pokerroom will insist you give them rake before you can scarper with the money.

good freerolls are hard to find. the best I played was at purple lounge.a weekly $5 no lose tourney that wasn't strictly speaking a freeroll as you didn't get the 50c fee returned to your account.
the value was great though.frequently 100 or so runners for $1000 prize.
they stopped that one in december.....sadly missed .

the bet365 $10 no lose isnt bad as usually only 300 runners vying for $500 and the top 50 get paid.

Freerolls are a great teaching tool. I play them about 1/2 the time I`m playing.
I started out playing only freerolls, got some bankrolls built and now have the freedom to chose what and when I play. I am mostly ur donk type...lol....gimme da bait.....but since this is only a pasttime and not yet a total addiction......dayem domesticity cuts in.....I will carry on learning and most of all enjoying time well wasted See you at the tables!
