I am fairly new to playing poker online so I play alot of freerolls. I havent yet made a final table because I always get donked by a lower hand but I enjoy playing the game and someday my luck will change. I am unemployed right now so I cant afford to play real money yet, and I am still not very good.

Playing a freeroll online now is a whole new ball game. You have to change up and go with the flow of things. You cannot play a freeroll the same way you would play a buyin game. To many donks playing the freerolls.

Yea I play a lot of freerolls and I feel like I am all over the place, not consistant at all. Sometimes I am going deep and others I am out on a suckout. I do real money but when titling or not having a good catchof cards I am all about the play money. I think my game is good but it seems i am just all over the place, and when I am doing well I am like in the middle of the pack, always way away from the chip leader. I have no idea. My play is a tight aggressive you could say.
-Just a confused phish, lol

Tight-Agressive? Good
Middle of the pack? Good
Don't worry about the chip leaders. Play solid poker, survive and consistantly be there when the real play begins. It only takes a few hands to get up with the leaders. Have patience, steal when you can and wait until your a heavy favourite before parting with too many chips.

I'm unemployed too, so I know exactly whatyou mean.

Your best bet of cashing in a freeroll is to find a site which is not really small, too much risk of closure, but none the less on the small side. You get much smaller fields and sometimes the level of play is better.

For example, Third Bullet have only one genuine freeroll per day, and it is a bit early for US players, 7 am EST, although quite a few turn up. The total entry is usually around the hundred mark and they pay down to the number of tables plus 2. So 13 or 14 places payed is the current norm. In just this last week I have hit the final table 3 times, including a win and a third, for a total of $44. So making money from Frs can be done, albeit less than our employed colleagues might pick up from pay tourneys.

One of the best places to play free rolls to pass time is pitbull poker, they do a $50 freeroll every hour, and only 300 ppl are aloud in, the site is java based and crahses al the time though, and its damn near impossible to cash out, but not impossible... maybe give it a try.

I love free rolls. They give you the opportunity to play hands you shouldn't and after the all in mania the first two or three levels you start playing against people that are decent players. I think they help you improve your online game a lot and for me they help me improve my patience. Johoyo if your getting to the final table consistently and then going out 8-10 then you might want to try being more patient, wait for the monster or real good hand then make your move. You want to get to heads up where playing good hands is sometimes all you need. Now if I could only take this advice 
