Online Cash Game Secrets Hello,
I was wondering what online cash game secrets you guys have.
Here's some things I'm doing now:
Tonight I bought in for $1 to PStars 1c/2c cash games and in 3 hours my bankroll had increased by $10 without losing my dollar.
Implied odds seem to be very important at that level, especially sets where the other person has top pair top kicker.
I try to keep the top pair good kicker or top pair top kicker pots small just to sustain me until that set, flush, or full house.
I'm wondering at what limits implied odds drops off and you mainly raise. For example, if I was playing $1/$2 tables I think I would usually raise unless I called on the button.
I have a specific structure, but I vary it based on reads and I'm starting to work on quickly identifying people's playing style, but there's a lot of room for improvement here.
I'm very tight. In the big blind and under the gun (6 players max games) I only raise w/ AA,QQ,JJ.
I call at the cutoff or later with a suited ace, a pair, a suited connector, etc. At micro stakes there are a lot of limpers.
If it folds around to me and there is 5 players left I don't change my starting hands much except early position is only the big blind, etc.
If there's only 2 or 3 opponents, I loosen up and play things like 88 or A10 on the button.
Heads up, I like ace rag or better, but I'll raise with Queen rag.
If I raise 4 to 6 handed, it's usually around a 10 cent raise.
I call a raise with AK or better if it's a tight player, AQ or better if it's a normal player, and AJ or better for a loose player. If I'm out of position, I'll only call with a made hand like JJ or better.
Most of my money is made with sets or full houses, especially full houses where I have the nuts or second to the nuts (I don't usually worry about Quads)
If I see a fishy all-in raise, I'll only call with AA
I surprise myself many times by being able to tell what people have once they bet. For instance, I had a set of 3s earlier and 2 kings came on the board and I put the guy on a king. I didn't fold, but after I saw his hand I promised myself that I would go with my reads more.
About 30% of the time I know what an opponent has. About 20% of the time I don't really know, and otherwise I'm starting to try to put people on a range of hands.
I'm wondering when you know that you should move up a level. There's a max $10 buy in for 2c/5c tables, and that's how much money I made tonight so I'm thinking of moving up a level.
Looking for really good strategies and advice...
Thanks! |
