wow, i totally agree with everything you have said Fink.

I don't care at all about goldcards anymore when i first started at cake, gold cards were EVERYTHING. Now i don't care anything about them. I rarely see them even though i play higher limits now.

Alright, let's put this another way.

Would you like to enter a Giveaway for $3,000 where there are 150 players or 1,500 players?

I also toally agree with everything FinK has said and I don't think you (Cake Manager) understand completely what FinK is saying, either that or you are really missing something here. Maybe you should re-read the post slowly and completely, it makes perfect sense to me.

THF Player of the Year
Even if it was true what Fink says about the Gold Cards if you look at the ring games at Cake you will see there are many tables playing throughout the day. I think these players will keep playing there even if they decided to get rid of the Gold cards. I mean 1800 players are not all playing for just a gold card every 60 hour. It could also be Cake is just a good site with a lot of good bonusses.

Doug I've been good, can you put the doom switch off now?

A giveaway for $3000 with 1500 players every week or a giveaway for $3000 where there are 150 a few times a year when you happen to have the correct gold card? Man, thats a tough one (cough).

I'm pretty sure he understands my point, he may not agree with it yet but he will (denial is unhealthy)

Monday. $1500 Giveaway. 4 of clubs
Tuesday. $800 Giveaway. 3 of diamonds
Wednesday. $3000 Giveaway. 2 of clubs
Thursday. $2000 Giveaway. 6 of spades.
etc, etc, etc

Now, your choice. IF you had any of these cards, would you rather battle 1,500 players for the cash in each event or 150?

You're assuming that the ring games will be the only place that Gold Cards are awarded to players. *evil grin* That's the case today, but it's not always going to be so.

I'm completely admit that it's drive is lost on the lower limit players currently compared to the early days. And there's nothing saying that we might not alter the entire promotion if the rest of the promotion fizzles when unveiled. We did it with the GC500 if you'll recall. All I'm trying to say is that we've promised value for the Gold Cards and we can't make good on that promise by adding more to the mix. The rarity of the Gold Cards makes them valueable. Unlike the McD monopoly pieces, you can turn a single Oriental Avenue into $400 instead of waiting for the entire set.

Of course the earlier days were more exciting and it's my job to reward you for being here in the early days. Yes, currently you need to view the site often to see if you're eligable for tournaments or cash prizes, but don't for a moment believe those will be the only two ways to redeem your Gold Cards for cash. We get e-mail all the time from players about this promotion and most of them get handed to me to absorb. Do I expect players to be happy with Gold Cards now? It really depends on the player.

I have some who have 20, 30 Gold Cards from Series 1 who are tickled pink with the new Tournaments they can try to get into. I have some who don't like tournaments and hate that they never get the combination for the Daily Lottery cash. No promotion is a 100% win for every player and I can only suggest that you'll get out of this promotion whatever you put into it. If you don't visit the site for the Daily Lottery and don't join the Giveaway tournaments, then the Gold Cards would not be a reason you'd stay in the Cake Network.

Like I mentioned, the player last week who's only won 3 Gold Cards used 1 to join a Giveaway and walked away with $400 bucks. Cake Network has most everything that the other sites have, (FPP Tournaments, Store, not so many freerolls currently but we're looking at increasing those, refer a friend, etc). This is simply the cherry on top with the GC 500, Giveaways, Daily Lottery, Fixed Prizes and $52K Jackpot.

All of the promotions have to do with Series One cards... you haven't denied that 5% of your player base (higher limit players) will end up controlling nearly 90% of the Series Two cards (my percentage will continue to go up until it's addressed).

You have stated that the gold cards have become harder to get so they last longer, that being said it is only realistic to think that when you institute them into tournament play that the requirements needed for a card will be even far more difficult than in your lowest limit rings... so I would imagine on average a gold card would appear once for every 10 10-handed sng's that go off meaning a player would average one gold card for every 100 sngs they play (this is completely just a guess on my part which is abnormal for me but it sounds right).
