I'm glad you asked that, sir.
I'm about to let you folks in on a secret about CakePoker that the public doesn't know about yet.
As you know, every hand of poker that is dealt on Cake can be turned into a Web Page. Just by clicking Last Hand, then clicking Create Shareable Webpage allows you to create a webpage that you can send to friends/family members.
Whether you post about a bad beat, an incredible suck-out on the Fonz or how you won a Gold Card, all of these stories are uniquely displayed in these Hand Histories.
When we were creating Cake, we wanted to make certain that players who told other players about Cake had a way we could reward them. It's only fair. People who saw Pirates this summer and told friends/family about it were not given a free movie ticket when their friends went on their recommendation. Players playing Halo were not given Halo 2 for free for getting their friends to play it. When you suggest or even talk about a poker site, including talking about bad beats, etc...you are advertising for the site.
So, we want to reward for you doing so. =)
Every real money ring game or buy-in tournament that you are seated at has a special secret. If you create a Webpage during your game, you'll notice the end of the web address has a bunch of characters:
Cake Poker
This is the encrypted Hand Number for the hand...PLUS...your Share Cake refer-a-friend code!
This means, each time you post a Hand History in an e-mail and send it to friends to share your adventures on Cake, we'll reward you if your friend signs up and starts playing. It's only fair, since your efforts brought that player to Cake.
Out of respect for all the hard work that Fonz and team do here on THF, the HH links will NOT work when posted in the forum here. Please respect the fact that we've designed this as a reward between close friends and family. We don't want people randomly spamming other forums with HH threads in an attempt to get tons of sign-ups (otherwise, we'd be telling everyone on our site about this hidden feature).
You're only the 2nd forum I've told this to, so please keep this under your hats. =)
