Default Lots of flopped flushes on Cake???

Hey all,

Is it me, or does Cake poker....both ring games and tourneys.....seem to flop 3 suited cards significantly more than what you normally see???

There did seem to be more suited flops in the games I have played in. I know that there were several times when it happened in consecutive hands. I haven't played on the site much though.

Hi folks,

Cool, my first chance to speak about our RNG!

Before we launched, we had it deal out 1 million hands to a ten player table. We came down exactly on the parameters of the expected results for all hand strengths over that time. There are too many threads like this for us to contimplate EVER launching a site without 100% certainty we were doing everything correctly.

The RNG/Shuffle details are here:

http://cakepoker.com/Integrity/RNG.aspx

Since we are using the one certified by NIST’s Cryptographic Module Validation Program, you'd have to take up any issues concerning patterns with them. It's the one part of Cake that we are happy to have farmed out to some very experienced folks.

I'm more than happy to answer any questions I might be able to about it. =)

Doug

I think Cake has got it figured out.

All these poker sites try to justify there RNG. Cake decides to have a reputable 3rd party make it for them so the heat is away...basically all they have to say is, "don't like our RNG? go talk to the educated experts with more degrees and certifications than your whole family tree, who have no hand in cakes company, and tell them they messed it up."

I'm sure a lot of people will be undeterred "mr. Cake", but i do have to say that is a clever way to approach it. Yall must have put some thought into that.

Please understand....I am not questioning the validity of the shuffling algorithm nor the integrity factor on Cake Poker nor the research behind it.

I AM stating, solely for sake of discussion, that it seems to me that 3 suited cards come out on the flop more often than you would expect based on my 20-30 hours of ring game and 1-2 dozen tourneys I have played on Cake Poker.

Its not enough of a sample to be "valid" statistical fact, but it is a valid observation on my part. Just wondering if anyone else had noticed.

BTW...I really like Cake Poker , so this is not a criticism thread.

Yep, I'm all about the RNG. Been on forums for 2 years prior to Cake launch and seen how passionately people are about this issue, which is why I was damn sure to hitch our wagon to a solid one.

I in no way believe this was a criticism from anyone. The RNG is VERY important and I was happy to see a thread pop up about it to tout that we did our homework. =)

Well, I was only talking about the flush flops. Lately, I pretty much hate your RNG, cause i'm ending up with 2nd best hand alot lately......(of course this has absolutely nothing to do with my donkey-like play)

Hey now, I thought I was KING of the second best hand at Cake Poker. I'm really starting to get a complex there. I'm starting to play like a donk because of some of the beats that I've taken there.

I think the RNG there hates me.

I'm telling you....it is uncanny.

Since my last post Tuesday afternoon, I've played probably 8 hours on Cake.....multiple ring game tables, and multiple tourney freerolls.

I have seen an INORDINATE number of times that 3 suited cards is hitting the board on the flop.

This happened enough times for me to notice it in the first place......now that i'm watching for it (in case i was imagining it), its still happening.

It happens all the time. I'm going to have to start tracking the hands manually to statistically document this.

On top of that, I've seen 2 straight flushes in about 2 hours play tonight. I saw one yesterday, and another in the last few days.

Does that seem statistically possible to anyone????

Its happening enough for me to consider playing suited cards more often on Cake.
