Default Gold Card Challenge for THF

Alright,

Let's have a little fun.

I'm looking for a few good questions about Gold Cards. They must come from 5 different players. Once I've gotten them, I'll move on to the next phase of this Challenge for all the THF site.

And yes, there's going to be prizes.

Doug

I haven't downloaded your site yet, so I don't know much about these gold cards. So here's a question that might already be known.

How long can you keep these gold cards in your account?

Once a table reaches a certain amount of rake (let's say $8 for argument's sake), it puts in a call to the Gold Card Vault.

I know you said "$8 for arguments sake" but what determines when the call will be put into the vault and if it is at "$8" will another call be put into the vault at the next time the rake =$8 or will another amount be randomly chosen?

THF Player of the Year
How high does the rake has to be to be dealt a gold card. I tried to find it on your website but couldn't find it.

Could it be that the hand doesn't need to be raked??

Howdy,
These Gold Cards are yours forever. No min play requirements, no time expiration, etc. So long as you log in to your Cake account once a year, you can keep them for a long time.

And...keeping them will be a good idea over time...I'll get into that later though. =)

The "$8" can change, but it changes for all tables when it does. We will be holding Gold Card Happy Hours in the near future, letting folks know that across the tables, Gold Card will appear more frequently for the next 2 hours, etc.

The call to the Vault is made when the threshold is made. IF it happens that another threshold is reached before the table has been able to award a Gold Card, then the 2nd threshold goes into a queue. Once the 1st Gold Card is awarded, the table will try on the next hand to award yet another Gold Card. Yesterday at the $5/$10 table, we saw 5 Gold Cards drop in 10 hands. This was because for 40 minutes, the table was running with only 3-4 players. The table actually hit 4 thresholds before it was able to award one card. Then more players joined the table, there were more hole cards and the Gold Card started dropping like Christmas.

Gold Cards can be awarded on ANY hand where cards were dealt. Even one where everyone folds pre-flop. There are zero conditions other than the table has to hit the threshold. After that, the table attempts to award a Gold Card to any player dealt cards on that table.

Default Okay, Phase Two

That was damn fast.

Alright. Guess I'll have to make this one a bit more challenging:

Cake's going to hold a 7 day challenge for any THF member, starting soon. You folks can decide how rewarding this is going to be for you.

After the starting bell, I'll count how many players come to the offical thread (Not yet started) with at least one Gold Card awarded OR a deposit on Cake. Based on the number of players with a Gold Card OR deposit, we'll increase the rewards for the THF.

The challenge will be simple: Collect Gold Cards. The three, four or five players who have the highest Gold Card in their collection (suits included, spades being the highest, clubs the lowest) will get 3x up to 15x times the value of their highest Gold Card. There will also be Bounties for various combinations that will be awarded to the players who obtain them first.

I'll post more details about the challenge, including the rules here shortly.

Hope this wasn't too short of notice for you folks.
