| | | Poker Forums | Poker Room : THF's Guide to clearing Poker Sites Deposit and Reload Bonuses | |
Welcome to our PokerRoom bonus review.
 | | | |
Site : PokerRoom
Deposit Bonus : They offer 40% up to $100 on your first deposit. First depositers also get a ticket to their new player freeroll tournament (known as the Shark Cage). The Shark Cage games normally have less than 100 players and the winner picks up $100.
Clearing the Deposit Bonus : In order to get the deposit bonus, you must first collect enough player points within 60 days of your deposit by playing. When you have enough player points, you will automatically get the deposit bonus transferred to your PokerRoom account.
A bonus requires 7 player points for every dollar. For example, a deposit bonus of $20 will require 140 player points. As soon as you have collected the points needed, your bonus will automatically be credited to your PokerRoom account.
Points in ring games : 1 point for every raked real money hand where the rake was $1.00 or more. You get 0.5 points for every raked real money hand where the rake was less than $1.00 (but more than $0.50). You do not have to pay rake to earn points, you just need to be dealt cards. If you are sitting out you will not earn any points.
Points in tournament games : 5 player points are awarded for every paid dollar in entry fee (real money tournaments). For example, if you enter a $20+2 tournament, you will be awarded 5 * $2 = 10 points, if you enter a $5+$0.50 tournament, you will be awarded 5*$0.50 = 2.5 points. The points are awarded when the tournament finishes.
Using the example given above, if you deposited $100 at PokerRoom you would be eligible for a $20 bonus. As mentioned, you would need to get 140 player points to gain this bonus. If you played nothing but $10+$1 sit and gos you would get 5 points per game and would therefore have to play 28 games to clear your bonus.
If you play ring games instead you would only get a half point for raked hands between $0.50 and $1.00 and 1 point for any ranked hand over a dollar. Assuming you play at a limit that always has raked hands just a dollar you would need to be involved in 140 hands to get your bonus. It does sound like a lot but its not that much when you think about it - most people would be able to get more than 15 points per hour at this rate in my opinion.
Reload Bonuses : PokerRoom don't do reload bonuses that often. They occasionally email players directly but its not as common as party poker etc. The exact same rules and terms apply for clearing a reload bonus.
