First off, I would like to explain my absence in posting of late. I am anew manager for my university's men's basketball team, which requires at LEAST 20 hours a week. Along with all of my classes and this huge project I am involved in, I have little or no time for poker.
Well today the first half of my project was completed. I was the director of a youth basketball clinic, which went off great today, and raised over $800 to help fight malaria. We have another event later, but I will get somewhat of a break.
We have a casino here in my college town, and I only have been there once. To be honest I felt more comfortable online and I was quite nervous to try out a live ring game. I decided I'd play the 1/2 NL with only $100. I wanted to be able to not lose a lot if I didnt play well.
Well I played very well and won $89 in about 1.5 hours. I didnt get many hands but I made the best of the few I won. I have live experience from when I first started playing. Thats all I played when I first learned, $5 and $10 buy-ins with friends. I am very good at not giving off tells, and have gotten much better at reading people.
I had a ton of fun tonight, I think I would have even if I lost. I actually think I like it more than online poker, it just makes the game SO much more fun. The atmosphere, the rush, chatting with the people at the table, its all amazing. It helps concentration a ton and now I know why real life is so much more of a thrill.
