solid start

Right, to work. I started my year with about $30 left on stars, and nothing on my coral ongame account though I did have a good amount of player points there.
On coral, the player points can be exchanged for playthrough bonuses (no good if you don't have funds to play), micromania mtt tickets (a long slog against donks, fish and nits for little value), or 'three's up' sng tickets. So i've been having a go at the three's up games. As the name suggests, these are three players only with prize distribution of 0%,33%(buy in back),and 66%. The exchange rate is 100 points for a $1.10 game, and 450 points for a $5.50. there are also $2,$11,$22 and $55 buyins but the $1 and $5 are the ones i'm going for currently. I had a balance of about 2200 points at the begining of the year, which is now down to about 300 + a $5 ticket in hand. I've been doing quite well in the games though, inc a win at a $5 game last night meaning my real money balance is now $21. I'm also still playing through a $5 bonus which should get released soon with steady progress.
Although Coral is part of the ongame network, I think the three's up games are exclusive to them, and they barely ever run.... no regs then. So my plan going forward (did I really just use that phrase) is to carry on playing these to take advantage of worse players than me trying to convert their points to cash. I will be the reg and take all action at $1-$2 level and occasionally take a shot at the $5 ones when 2/3 are already registered. target is to hit $100 and start playing a few MTTs. Be nice if I could play some of the mini GSOP events which are coming up in March.
As for Stars, I'll be playing to my strengths.... 180 man sngs and MTTs. I've got off to a good start with a couple final table finishes catapaulting the roll up over $200. I want to try and stay out of the habit of multi tabling more than 6 tables though so my typical session now will be {2 mtts,4 sng} or {2x plo ring, 4 sng}, or 2 of each.
PLO eh.... i'm getting better, honest! I think my main prob was that i'm an action junkie and build the pot in the wrong spots and bluff too much. However playing this way has taught me a lot about what different types of villain are doing and their likely ranges. I think i know what my biggest leaks are so i'll try keep them plugged. Also i'm going to work my way through properly and not just donk away buyins taking shots at higher than i'm rolled for. This has been a major downfall of mine in the past... its time to manage the roll better.
targets then:
I want to turn $200 into $2000 on stars as a mid term goal.
Beat PLO 1/2c for 50 buyins ($100 profit)
Rebuild a usefull roll at Coral (currently $21)
---------------------
Just gonna throw this out there... if you'd like to stake me into a game i'd be very interested in playing 'landmark' games I wouldn't otherwise be able to play keeping to BR management. I have played some bigger buyin stuff and have cashed a couple of times in SCOOP events. PM me to discuss or catch me in chatbox sometime.
Cheers all and GLGL!!!
