Bankroll update

Posted 11-12-2007 at 11:23 PM by JayC170
Just a quick update on my recent progress

The site i predominantly play at (Poker Rewards) has had a promotion this month which has seen me play more then double my average number of hours at the table to reach it. I have to earn 2,000 raked hands in a month to get $100 for free. I've got a week left to do it but am only a couple hundred short so should make it no problem.

The great thing about this promotion though is not the impending bonus im abouts to recieve (although thats very nice ), but the experience i've gained over the last month playing more regulary in cash games.

In my earlier blog i stated my displeasure at how i've been playing in these games, not trusting my reads, and paying off hands when i knew i was beat. This month has been an amazing month for me and i have earned over $1,000 (which is double my bankroll before this month) playing 0.25/0.50 NL and 1/2 Limit cash games. I feel amazing at the poker table!

I'm making the big folds i could never make, laying down kings twice preflop in this period (which i'd never done previously), to be shown pocket aces one of those times, and having a strong read he had it the other time.

i've learned that keeping people honest is not the way to play, calling down with marginal hands in small pots is something i do not do now.

Tournament wise, i haven't been playing much, just the odd bonus game held for players who play regularly on the site. Came 3rd in a freeroll last night for $36 which wasn't bad

Im planning to focus more on my MTT game after i reach this bonus. Mainly to change things up a bit, but also to prepare for the upcoming THFSOP!

I'm planning to play some H.O.R.S.E MTT's on Poker Stars this month, which will give me the best chance to learn and develop each of the games featured at the series. Though first i need to look up Razz, the only game i've never previously played.

wow, i never knew i could ramble on soo much

Current bankroll: $1,678
