Hi, does anyone know where can I find fully detailed rules
of texas hold'em? Specially when kicker wins and when is's split.
One pair, two pairs etc...

Unhappy thanx but...

Thank You!
But I'm still in the dark...

Even these two links you gave me say different rules...

Originally by myself I thought the main rule is:

Everyone makes his best hand from his own two cards and from the five ones on the table, and there is a comparing between those best hands till ONE kicker.

First link says:
Two pair is when your best five cards create a pair twice. That seems easy enough right? When comparing two hands both with two pair then the larger one always wins.

Noothing about kicker...

Second link says:
The remaining highest card that the player has will be used to determine the winner in the event of two or more players having the same two pair.

And about the High card:
In the event that no one has any of the above hands, the person with the highest card wins. If both people have the same high card it goes to the next highest card and so on.

Let me see if I can help leonetti. Each player has 7 cards, 2 in their hand and 5 community cards that are shared. You want to make the best hand possible with any 5 of those cards.

So let's say you have TT in your hand and your opponent has J3 in their hand. Right now you have the best hand and you are probably only going to be beat if your opponent catches a jack. But you can be beat in other ways too. Let's say the community cards come AAKK2. Now you lose because your opponent has a better kicker. Your best 5 cards are AAKKT and his best cards are AAKKJ. So his jack kicker beats your ten kicker. And your pair of tens aren't any good at all. Now say the board came AAKKQ. Your best hand now is AAKKQ. Your pocket cards aren't even used to make your best hand. Your opponents best hand is also AAKKQ. So he doesn't use his pocket cards either. So in this case you would both split the pot.

Let's look at another case. Say you have AQ and your opponent has A2. Now you appear to have him dominated and you just have to dodge a two. But let's say the board came ATTK5. Your best 5 cards are AATTK. And his best 5 cards are AATTK. Again a split pot and your queen kicker doesn't get used. But say the board came ATT25. Now he hit his duece, but he doesn't get to use it. His best 5 cards are AATT5. And your best 5 cards are AATTQ. You win the pot with your kicker.

One more example. Let's say you have J8 and your opponent has J7. The board comes AAQ32. You both have a pair of aces with a jack kicker. But your best 5 cards are AAQJ8 and his best 5 cards are AAQJ7. So your 8 kicker beats his 7 kicker and you win the pot.

Does that help clear things up a bit?

the second link is correct (im biased because i wrote it!)

in your two pair example, the 5th non paired card will decide who wins the pot. If the cards are the same its a split pot. You should bear in mind though that both players use the best 5 out of 7 cards so the 5th non paired card can be on the board and be used by both players (which would result in a split pot)
