Default Q's About Tourny Play

I know that this sounds stupid.

I play alot, and when I say alot, I mean 4 - 6 times a week. But when I play, I play cash at a casino. I always go home winning. I would say in the last 3 months I have made anywhere between $8000 and $11000, I would have to check my log to see for sure. I recently met a few people who play in alot of tournies. I have started playing with them, and I do reasonably well, but I never take the whole thing down. I will always make the final table, usually 7 out of 10 times, and they usually play with between 20 - 100 people.

Why can't I ever take it down? Can somebody tell me if there is something I am doing wrong?

I think it is your style of play when you get to final table it is a new ball game - I cant really help you as this is where i struggle as well, also I play on line not live games, If you play short handed tables(6 man tournys available at pokerstars) and heads up games this will help you improve a different style of play to help you when you get to the final table.

This is the advice I have been given to improve my final game strategy so I hope it helps you with yours

My only suggestion is to play a lot of online heads up, and 6 player tables, (like at Noble Poker or CD poker). This will help you gauge how to play in these situations. Ultilmately in 3+ player tables it depends on your stack on how you play. Big stack, play conservative, low stack agressive. Just takes some time and experience to learn. Hope that helps.

Usually when I get to the final table in a tourney(online im speaking of), then I switch to Rock Mode. I just play a little tighter and watch ppl go out ahead of me, which in turn means more $ I don't mind tightening up and watching ppl go at it, especially when every person that goes out bumps up my payout

i normally play the final table very agresive as people get scared to play and you can steal alot as i have played the rest of the torny very tight i can get away with it a few times lol by the time people catch on i have built a very nice stack
