Default Denominations

When playing Texas Holdem what are the best 5 denominations to use in a game? I have only played a few times and we have been using chips with a value of $25, $50, $100, $500 and $1000 values. What elce would work?

its irellevant really
as long as the denominations match the number of chips each player starts with

do they chips have any value on them or can i assume theyre blank ?

They are blank. The reason I asked this question is because I want to purchase chips with denominations on them and I want to make sure I get ones that will be most usefull in any game. Most sets come with a 1 5 10 25 and 100 dollar denominations on them, and I dont know if that will work. Also. how do you determine how many chips to give each person?

Like Fonz said, it is irrelevant. When I have home games, I play it like PokerStars tournaments. Each player starts with 1500 chips and the blinds follow PokerStars' blind structure.

I think you could be fine with 10, 25, 100, 500, 1000. That would work with the structures that I play, but it all depends on what you do. You could start everyone off with 100 chips and have blinds less than $1 to start.

You should probably figure out how many chips each player will get and what the blinds will be every time you play before you buy chips with denominations. Then after that is set, it will be easier to find out what chips you need.
