Default Sit and Go help

Normally when I play sitngos I play tight in the begining but this only loses me chips. Rarely do I get enough good hands to keep me sometimes even just postive. When I raise most poeple ethier fold or call and catch me with bad hands. Then later on I'm always sitting with the short stack while most people have double'd up. Is something wrong with my playing?

I wait around for the good cards and the blinds eat at me. Eventually they are up to 50/100 and I maybe have won one or two pots. Thats what I mean by losing while playing tight lol.

Actually from what you are saying...I don't believe that you are playing tight at all gezer...the experts say that you only have around 1 playable hand an hour...you are saying that when the blinds are up to 50/100 you have only WON one or two hands...it sounds to me like you are playing a lot of hands.

If this is Pokerstars, could you post the % of flops you see?

Maybe I think too many hands are playable. When I'm playing really tight the hands I usually play are AA-1010 AK-A10 QA QK QJ KQ KJ and pocket hands I try to hit the 3 of kind.

If you would, look in the "stats" part of the table, after a tourney, and post the % of flops you saw.

uh, QK and KQ are the same hand...also i wouldnt play QJ as its not nearly as good as it looks, also just incase youre unaware, you should play your hands according to the position you are in, if youre in early position then you should be playing extremely tight, if youre on the button you can afford to bluff more if nobody has entered the pot yet and play a LITTLE more loosely

I never really thought about position untill I started reading things on this forum awhile ago. I guess I have been playing QJ alot stronger than I should. I'll post % next time I play a SnG

yeah but that is in a live tourney with alot slower structure....If you only play one hand per hour you will go out like Broomcorns Uncle...SNG usually only last about an hour.

In the $1 sit and go's, generally it seems to be wise to play extremely tight- and i mean even fold some monsters sometimes - because there tends to be much wildcatting on the first two tables. Notice the crazy all-in cards that you see on table 5; you can't play smartly because too many freaks will call to the river with nothing. And then they catch some oddball inside straight. Be very careful and absolutely sure you have the best hand before committing to a large pot early. After table 3, yes play those hands wisely, and more aggressively when appropriate.
