Default Stacking Your Chips

During my last few live games, I have been paying attention as to how I stack my chips at the table. 'Insignificant', you may say, and 'you should be concentrating on your game'. Probably. But it's a small detail that may just cause your opponent to fold to your bluff. Here's the genreal chip formations that I use:

Fortress: Create a barrier of chips in a U-shape and put your cards behind it. It will help you tighten up your game, as it is like you are defending yourself from the other players. Good for maintaining a chip lead.

Gothika: Collect your chips in tall, fairly uneven stacks, shorter stacks at the front. This is an aggressive formation and is easy to push your chips all-in. Good for short-stacked players.

Evens: Set your chips out in even stacks so they are easy to count, so you can see if you are up or down chips. Good for when you have around the average chips.

If anyone is crazy enough to try these formations ( ), let me know if they work. I have recently been playing and when I get a slight lead, I build a 'wall of 800' which raises my morale as long as it stands.

P.S - I know how crazy this sounds. Im still experimenting... lol

This is a little off the wall, but whatever works for you keepin doin'. As for myself, I like the even stacks because it is useful for counting chips and keeping things simple.

whenever i have a ton of chips and its a while before the tourny resumes, i make a castle 4 guard towers and a courtyeard where the most valuable chips go. If I have a picture of what it looked like, i'll put it on here, it looked awesome!

I usually stack my chips in 20s with the chip value less to the front and more to the back. When I usually have a chiplead, against the people I play they seem more cautious and back off when I raise. That's why they NEVER want to give me a chiplead and try to bust me out quick. They know if I get the chiplead... 85 percent of the time, I'll place in the money.

I really don't care how people stack their chips, just as long the high value chips are in plain sight. Don't hide a small stack of 5000 chips behind 2 stacks of 500 chips.

I stack my chips in stacks of 10 in kind of a sideways 'L' formation. It's really weird, I place my cards inside the hole, and look at one, then very very slowly slide it over so I can see the second. It's really weird, but I've done it for so long, it doesn't feel right doing it any other way.

OOOOOO

I tend to use the "Fortress" method with my more valuable chips behind my less valuable... That way someone can underestimate your chip count and try to bully you, and caught in a trap =].
