Thx for the article; yeah I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that poker sites/rooms in general tend to get more traffic after a wsop event is televised.

I think the link is busted though, had to copy and paste it.

Kind of hypocritical to blast the WSOP and how it provides no insight into learning poker, then claim that in 5 minutes his newsletter will teach you how to dominate.

Shouldn't practice be number one? I mean, you can learn the theory and crap, but poker is all about excution

If you practice alot but don't know what strategy to practice, you may not get better, or get better very slowly. Knowing how to play is just as important.

learning poker is all about reading and practice. Read information from good players whether they be their books or online articles. Then put the things you've learnt into practice, at least try to. After a session review your play and if needs be check a chapter of a book that you think you're not playing as well as you could and try to improve that.

It takes a long time to master this game and while there are a lot of people out there that believe they're a great playing because they've won a lot in their first 5000 hands of playing online, they're not as good as they think and it's more to do with a good run of cards they're currently having. For example, the amount of times I see someone call first in with 78s because they've seen someone on TV playing it and they then hit their miracle str8 or flush. They continue to play that hand even when the situation isn't correct. They should've learnt that suited connectors (in limit) are only realy profitbable in large unraised pots. To play it UTG or when there's only you and the blinds seeing the flop will lose you money.

So, yes, practice is very important but if you don't know where you're going wrong when you practice and know how to improve your leaks, it really doesn't matter whether you've watched the WSOP or read a million books.
