Question TEXAS HOLD EM BOOK

I have been playing poker for about 6 months, but never for more than £5 at once. I wanna raise my game, and know basics (pot odds, calculating them, etc.) but would like a good book to study to help me out. anyone read a recommendable book recently? Thanks for any help.

If you are really looking to raise your game, I first suggest reading Play Poker Like the Pros by Hellmuth. In this book you will learn basic strategy, basic ways to play different hands, player types, etc. Once you feel that you have grasped the basic strategies, I suggest reading Super/System (one or two) or Advanced Hold 'Em. Both books will help you elevate you game and get you to develop a good strategy for most situations. Good Luck.

As a new player myself i found phil helmuths book a good start. Obviously you cant go out and play then consult the book on every hand but it did give me a load of ideas on how to play hands and how to get the most from your chips. Cheers Phil.
