Default ring game or sit and go?

I am new to playing for real money and have a question. I am trying to work off my bonus and trying to keep my bankroll close to even so when the bonus kicks in I will be up. I like sit and goes but was wondering what everyone thinks is the most profitable. Sit and goes or ring games. Opinions appreciated.

I like sit and goes as it suits my style of play and you cant take any more money to the table.

So that is two reasons I like sit and goes.

But it is up to you if you are good at ring games and can keep your balance about even then stay there but watch the swings can be bad in ring games

The swings can be bad in tournys if you dont place for a few of them so it all depends on your style of play and what you feel comfy with.

REMEMBER LOOK AFTER YOUR BANKROLL AND STICK TO YOUR LIMITS!!!!!!

that last line is one of the most important things I have learnt since I joined this forum my bankroll has gone up to about $200 and down as low as $10 so watch the swings and stay at your limit

good luck and hope to see you posting that you have made loads of money (unless your at my table)

Don't you earn more points at most sites playing ring games? It seems that way to me. Maybe because I play more hands that way.

If you are a decent tournament player, I suggest SNGs. You have to remember that when you play ring games each hand is raked, and the site gets a certain part of each pot -- equivalent to the "+1" in a "$10 + $1" buy-in in a sng. The site gets the extra buck, and the rest of the cash goes into the prizepool.

The rake is what makes making money so difficult. A lot of players think that they can make serious cash as a player, but winning good cash in a tourney is really hard, and winning a pot at a ring game means you lose a fraction of each pot to the house. It's really a toss-up. I suggest knowing the rake if you decide to hit up a ring game, and if you can play tourneys decently, hit up the sng scene.

SnG, I like SnG because you are aiming for a target and that makes it easier for me to play well. In ring Games there is no aim or target, you can set these yourself though.

In Ring Games You also can suffer massive fluctuations in your chip stack which can seriously effect your bankroll.
In SnG Tournaments Games you pay a fixed feee, and it doesnt matter how much your chip stack fluctuates its not going to harm your bankroll in any further way.
SnG games are also good because at the beginning of the game no-one has a chip advantage over you, so the play is alot fairer.
In the end you need to play a bit of both and make your mind up what you like playing. No one can tell you, you have to make up your own mind through your own experiences, your strengths and your weaknesses.

I have tried sit and goes and so far have not had much success. I pretty much only play no limit ring tables, low stakes, but thats just me.

I like em both. It mostly depends on what kind of mood im in. If im in a "i want some money and don't wanna wait an hour"mood i'll play a ring game. If i'm in a "im gonna kill some time and try to make some money in the process" mood i'll play a sit n' go. I've had success in both and i've lost some cash in both. But if it came down to choose one I'd take ring games.

Well, I prefer sit and gos because I personally do better in them. I also like the whole tourney format better then having people come and go as they please.Plus if you lose a couple big hands in a tourney, you're done with it and can't lose anymore money. In a ring game, sometimes if you get frustrated, you may be tempted to put more in to try to get your money back and end up losing even more. However if you want to get your bonus cleared FASTER, you should play ring games. I think you should try them both and see which one you like to play more.
