Default How should I be playing this?

Seems like I'm always getting delt Q 8 suited. I never know how to play this. Is this a good enough hand to raise preflop, should I call SB/BB, or fold this altogether? Any help would be great.

i think it depends on your position , i think if you are on button sb or bb and its cheap, go ahead and call. I personally would never raise with it, but i am a tight player, so i probably dont play that hand unless i am on the button or small blind and i can see it for half price. Also, it depends on how many other people are calling the flop. If theres a lot of people in the hand, i dont think queen 8 suited is going to hold up that well. sorry that this isnt very organized response, but i cant organize my thougths when typing, hopefully you semi understand what im trying to say

Don't think i'd raise with that hand no. It's a decent hand to play though in certain positions. Late position without any raises infront of you would be would be a good time to play it.

I personally don't like Q 8 and will usually fold unless i can see a cheap flop or am on the button. If there's a lot of ppl in the hand i would lay this down no matter what becuase odds are they have an A, K or a Q w/ a card higher than 8. I too am a very conservative player and some people like to play these kinds of hands.

Acutally I seen Daniel Negreneau say always to muck those cards, because its won of the most useless hands, I don't know if I should beleive him, he only made 4.4 million player poker last year...

Unless you're in the SB/BB, I'd fold them.

Usually I'm losing money trying to turn this into a straight. I should probably stay away from this hand unless in BB or SB, like you guys suggested, thanks agian.

Playing these hands completely depends on your chipstack, If you have got the wealth to play it strong i would play it, if you are on the BB or SB i would limp in if i could and see a flop, if you dont have a flush or straight or a draw i would muck it after the flop, if you have a flush or straight draw and a big chip stack make sure you play it very strong. - Playing it slow is dangerous because if the cards come up for a straight, its possible someone could be holding a king and thats dangerous. Additionally if you flop the flush, someone could be holding the suited ace and could get a flush on the turn. Play it wisely, but in the later stages of a tyourney i would definetly advise you to play it.

P.s Negreanu is a good poker player, but if he says he folds a Q,8(suited) hes lying ive seen him play J,4(suited) pre-flop on many occasions lol.
