Default Playing draws after the flop

How do you guys generally play flush draws and open ended straight draws on the flop. Would you push hard and try and take the pot then and if you get a caller you have plenty of outs. Or would you check and hope to see the next card relatively cheap? I don't generally bet too hard in these situation and hope to hit my card for the big payday

Just curious in how others treat these situations.

it depends on how many outs you have. open ended or a gut shot or flush draw? after the flop you should have the best hand or a draw to the best hand to continue playing. i try to see the turn for a cheap as i can and if im in possition i'll call for the river.

I'm a pretty conservative player. It depends really, if I am feeling really confident I might bet (the blind, which I know is not good to do anyway), but not a lot. Or I'll check to try to see the turn for free.

I always play flush draws on the flop - but i don't think that's the right thing to do - this is a good question - would like to see how others view. Oh, and rarely play straight draws - not sure why I'm playing one and not the other

I like to check to see a free card if at all possible. If its extremely cheap, you might want to call so see the turn/river to try and make it.

Default draws

I will check but don't like to call big bet. tough spot to be im thicking you have the best hand when it all said and done.if you make the draw you need.
But most of the time i will lay it down and pick a better spot.
to put my money on the line.

i like to bet somewere near the size of the pot with a flush draw if its A or K high.even if you dont hit the flush, if you hit the A or K you have a good shot at winning the hand.if i have a straight draw to the low end of a straight.like i have 5/6 and the flop is 7/8/x i will usually check but if i had 9/10 i would usually make a small/medium bet in early position but check in late position

I usually try to see as many cards as cheaply as possible. If I am last to act and everyone else has checked to me, I might try to take down the pot, but watch out for slow players. If you have a large stack of chips, you obviously can bet higher and try to force everyone else out, especially the smaller stacks. If you are short stacked, then dont try to chase much. If you are in the middle with chips, again dont chase to much and waste a lot of money, because of course, you havent made a hand yet.

If you aren't sure, I find it best to calculate pot odds. As far as this goes, it's pretty east and lets you know if whether calling a bet or not is worth your money. I'll post a separate thread later on about pot odd calculation (I haven't seen one here yet. Let me know if I'm beating a dead horse with this idea).

If you flop a flush draw, it's a one out of three chance to hit the flush. Open ended straight draws are one in four, and inside straight draws are something like one in nine. Keeping that in mind, I like to see as many cards for free as possible, and call small bets (up to 3x the big blind).

Also, the point about staying in with ace high or king high flush draws is worth repeating, too.
