Strongest top ten are the top ten cards paired for starters. But the flop gives the true value. So what is your reason for asking?

You got to be prepared to fold at anytime. Can't marry a hand or you may die.

For 10 handed tables look at http://www.texasholdemforums.com/odds/pre-flop-odds.php

If you want a full answer and don't mind doing an awful lot of boring work, use something like the Poker Rewards odds calculator and get the %s for all hands for all table sizes, then sort them. Let us know if you do

Thanks for that link! That's like what I was looking for. 10 best hands pre flop. I'm going to print that out.

Obviously, the question was asked concerning preflop odds. AA is huge, especially when the flop comes Axx. But if the board ends up showing AKQJ with 4 hearts then your hand probably isn't terribly good, we all get it. How about answering the question that was asked instead of going off in your own little world cow.

My bad. I should have stated that I was asking PRE flop. Of course I know the flop changes everything. That was a cool link for that.

When I started I printed out charts of starting hands and taped them next to my monitor. I also put up post flop odds. Hell, I even started making a poker calculator using Skalansky nfo using a macro program.

Anyway, I'd say you're on the right track (presuming you are a beginner.) Stick with folding anything but premium hands. By playing this tight you will 1) improve your game drastically 2) get more game time and hands on experience 3) get a great basis for later learning post-flop hand values.

Like everyone else mentioned, the flop really sets your hand value. You need as much experience as possible, even if it's just watching hands you're not in. This strategy will maximize your exposure, in my opinion. After the flop, it becomes more about the players and less about the cards.

peace

Thanks for the info. Yes I am a beginner. I've only been playing since Christmas. Bought Hellmuth's book & have been playing his 10 top hands strategy & winning but I know I need to grow & use other's which I have. But that just taught me the ropes which is good. Playing very tight/selective.
