| | | | Next Book? I normally play low limit $1/2 online fixed limit ringed games
I have read Internet texas holdem by Mathew Hilger, and am currently reading Winning low limit holdem by Lee Jones
I was wondering what would be a good book to read next, I am starting to enjoy NL sit &go's , and I play some tournaments (mostly freerolls or point buy-in freerolls) So a book that includes some NL tournament strategy would be helpful

| | | | super system, great book just to leanr about NLHE, no matter what your playing. he preaches patience and aggresiveness, two key tips in winning at NLHE, he also gives a lot of situations and has a very in depth look at NLHE, my favorite book by far

| | | | If you only want to play NL hold'em tournaments, Harrington's books are the way to go.
If you want to learn other games, one of the supersystem books is a good purchase. For me, the stud hi/lo section of SS2 has paid for the whole book several times.
For limit hold'em, the best book is small stakes hold'em by David Sklansky.

| | | | i'm interested in a book that touches upon all variations of holdem, so i'll look into the supersystem books: i'm just curious on how the some might like the
1st over the 2nd: does the 2nd not contain all the info of the first?

| | | | no it does, but it is a bit more updated. i like the first one because it is wrote by the guys who made poker what it is today, these guys could tear apart anyone while they were in their prime. while the info is a bit dated, it is still strong basic strategy that if used with some of your own moves, can be very effective

| | | | The main differnce in supersystem 1 vs 2 is the games covered.
SS1:
-Draw (5 card, with and without a wildcard)
-7 card stud.
-lowball (A-5, 2-7, and Razz)
-Limit Hold'em
-No Limit Hold'em
-Several mathmatical charts by Mike Caro
SS2:
-2-7 tripple draw (also A-5),
-stud hi/lo are included
-43 "tips" from Mike Caro (honestly, probably worth the price of the book)
-Limit hold'em
-Omaha 8/b (hi/lo)
-Pot Limit Omaha
-Tournament overview
-No Limit Hold'em
Both versions also have limit hold'em hapters. 2 has Pot Limit omaha, and omaha hi/lo, I think 1 just has Pot Limit omaha.

| | | | def get vol 2 rather than1
Jenifer harman's chapter on limit holdem has helped win me a few biggish prizes in limit tourneys and is probably better than the chapter in vol 1. Much of what is relevant in SS1 is incorporated into SS2 (the doyle brunson stuff is practically the same) SS1 includes stuff about a number of games and varients that are rarely played where as SS2 focuses on the current main games so SS2 has more worthwhile reading. Also the mike caro section in SS2 is worth the price of the book alone and applies to all games.
I have both and am glad I bought SS1 after I had SS2 already but 2 is enough for most folks and SS2 is the better/most useful of the two

| | | | Upon thinking this over, my recomendation is to buy supersystem 1.
Then download supersytem 2 from here: http://www.doylespokerroom.com/poker/poker_online.cfm
Before they have sense enough to take it down!
