Default Would you play or take the W$

I qualified for a seat in the WCOOP event 2. The thing is I would like to play in it just for fun. Ive always wanted to play in a large event. However, I dont know if I should. Heres a couple reasons why.

First, I dont get to play a lot anymore. Mostly just single table SNGs. So Im not sure how my patience would hold in a game that will have a rather large feild. Im sure that im disciplined enough to maintain focus. But not 100% sure.

Second, the amount I could get from the W$ would just about double my BR. Yes, I know I couldnt afford to even play in the qualifier that I did, but I thought what the hell. Im really not to worry about going broke. If I get too low, I can usually tear up the $3T SNG's or the $5 SNG's.

So what would you do?

Ill probably try a couple more qualifiers to other events as well, but I dont want to blow my whole BR on qualifiers, so I probably wont qualify for another one.

hmmm, i think i would play in it myself, event 2 is the PL 5 draw right? personally that is my best game and i feel i will do well if i qualify for it.

as for you, ask a few questions. can you make time to play in this event, it will take a while.

also, do you feel comfortable playing in a big buyin tourney, especially when you can really develop your bankroll with it.

if you like 5 draw and are confident you can do well, then play. otherwise, id take the w$.

by thew way prof, what sat did you play and how hard was the game? id like to get as much info about these, i really wanna play in them but i have to build my roll a bit. it fell a little lately.

The fact your asking this question I think answers it for you.

If you play this you will go in playing scared, and you go in playing scared you will play bad.

I am not sure when game is but if you are not going to play at your best don't play it.

I know you will do well if you play but you are unsure - so when you know in your own head how you are then you will know the answer

"paste some yoda talking to luke sayings in here"

ok

"I dont beleive it"

"That is why you fail"

Its not that Im scared Jones. Its just that selling the w$ could really help my BR at the moment. I think I could do fairly well, but if I dont then Im out that money which I could use. Again, Im not worried about going broke either. Ive come up with a lot less than I have now.

As for your question rw. See my other post for the tourny info. As for the play, I thought it was pretty horrible until we got down to around 7 players. It got a little intense at the end as I found myself shortstack with 7 players to go, and then again with 5. (Thought for sure I was going to bubble). But it was just because the chip leader, who probably could have sailed to a ticket, kept doubling up the shortstacks. Then he did it for me once. Then I took a lot of chips off of someone else with a set. Ended up chip leader at that point and stayed there until the previously mentioned chip leader busted out.

I was in the top 4 most of the tourney. It was really easy to get to the FT. But after that it was a little harder. But I was patient enought to wait for the right opportunity......

Thumbs up

I could see cashing, but I would say play.Either way you go is right, but hate giving up money if you are going to cash it in.
I cashed in my last W$ but that was to the wsop and didnt like the odds, considering I wouldnt play it anyway.
My second choice would be use it to play in other events to qualify for the WCOOP.
If you play just remember its spending 36 instead of 215

Very nice Job Qualifying by the way.More on the way Im sure.

Last year I qualified for event 18 ($2600 NLHE). I took the W$ and withdrew. I regret it though. That helped me with bills for a short while and I was happy to have it but it spent fast. I almost didn't notice it come and go.

I would play, if you lose you lose but at least you won't regret it. I guess the question is how much is $215 to you?

The thing is, Im not really looking at it as $215. I saw that qualifier yesterday I said "Hell with it, if I lose Im out $30 something." Even though thats bad BR management on my part, I was and still am prepared to just be out that $30 something dollars. Thats why Im really leaning towards just playing it.

Guess I have till Sep to decide for sure.....but Ill probably play just for fun....

If you don’t want to play in it maybe you should give it to somebody that would. And go 50-50 or something.

I wouldn't Play in it because u worked so hard to get there. So if u take the points or whatever, it will be a 100% guarentee win.
