Default Bad Beat Jackpot AP

THF Player of the Year
O my, the bad beat jackpot at Absolute Poker is now over 565k!! Anyone else playing these games? The extra rake is a killer but getting a piece of that jackpot makes it all worth paying. There are currently 150 jackpot tables and the jackpot is growing 50k every day.

Biggest jackpot amount won was by BOKKIS - $137,523.20 - who had his KTo beat by a straight flush.

Here's a video:

But this story isn’t entirely about KADI. The pot winner walked away with $133,521.48 and the participants in the hand each earned $33,380.37.

Jackpot rules have changed. I knew they had these rules on UltimateBet but not that AP had the same rules. All players playing the same limit as where the jackpot hit will now get a piece of the pie.

Quote:
Who Gets What
  • 25% rolls over to the next Bad Beat Jackpot
  • 10% goes to the house
Of the remaining 65%
  • 50% goes to the Bad Beat victim
  • 25% goes to the winner of the hand
  • $1K goes to every other player at the Bad Beat table
  • The remainder is divided between everyone playing the same game type and limit when the Bad Beat goes down
You must be holding cards to win a share of the jackpot

Be VERY careful with that . . . it's worded ambiguously, and even though they state "EVERY PLAYER" and "ANYONE holding cards . . .", in the fine print of the T&Cs there is a line that only seems to apply to the actual BBJ hand, but actually also applies to all potential table shares:

"The Bad Beat Jackpot collects $0.50 from the pot of each raked hand that is raked $0.25 or more. Only hands with a rake higher than $0.25 are eligible for the Bad Beat Jackpot."

Yes, folks, it doesn't matter if you've been sitting at your table for three hours and 99 out of the last 100 hands were raked for the BBJ . . . if the hand you're playing at the exact time of the BBJ hitting at another table of the same limit/type as yours isn't raked enough, you get nothing. (Which is what happened to me a couple of nights ago, and yes, I am seriously pissed off about it. ) I think this -- along with the fact that AP takes 10% of the BBJ right off the top for the house -- is about the biggest crock of smelly poo I have ever seen. . . .

I didn't know the hand should be raked also. That really sucks that you were playing at the same limit and didn't get any money out of the BBJ.

That 10% AP takes out of the pot is really ridiculous. They rake the pot as normal rake as well. They have no business taking our dollars out of the BBJ.

We have to keep playing all those suited connectors and hope we get beat by a higher Straight Flush.
