| | | | Am I really...... ....becoming a moaning 'ole fart.....!!!!!!
This happened today on AP, I haven't played a NL FR for ages.......was I wrong to send this to support.........????
Hello, I have been a member for sometime and I have never seen such blatant
cheating on any of your tables like I saw today in this freeroll........two
players ***** and ******, several times ***** told ****** to call with *****
putting in a large bet ***** didn't call if others before him did.....until
****** raised pre-flop to 7400 odd nearly all their stack bar 300 odd
chips.......no one before ****** called so he did everyone else folded the flop
come it was up to ***** to bet first and she/he just folded and all the
chips went to ****** to which he said thank you.
I'm aware as others pointed out this is only a freeroll.....But does that
make it right......???
I have never seen this done on AP only heard stories of it happening through
posts on my forum....to say it pissed me off would be a mild under statement
however it is brushed up it is I feel still cheating regardless of Buy-in or
game.
I feel things like this happening on any room can only damage the site, I
have not played a NL FR for sometime on AP , only I believed they would be
better to play in than they used to with all the new improvements you have
made regarding entry etc.......however if this is what is going on in them I
doubt I'll play one again.
Kind Regards
Andrew Dickens
(SonnyChiba05) However they did reply......pretty damn quickly as well.!!!!! Dear Andrew,
Thank you for letting us know about what you happened at the tables.
Please note that we started an investigation and we will follow the proper
methods to guarantee that this incident do not occur again. It is against our
policy to reveal anything about another player, so the actions taken against
those suspected customers can't be discussed with you. However, I want to thank
you for bringing this activity to our attention.
If there is anything else we can assist you with please let us know.
Sincerely,
Sander
Team Absolute ~ Security & Control Department So maybe not such a bad thing to of sent it.....???? (***** and ****** are the players involved I thought best I blank there names)

| | | | not only was it a good idea to send it, it was the right thing to do. no cheating should ever be overlooked regardless if it is a freeroll or not. you absolutly did the right thing and i can only hope that anyone else that sees cheating will report it to. there is no room for it in the game of poker and anyone who has a chance to prevent it should do so. well done sonny. | |

| | | | Even if someone cheats at a free bar tournament they should get caught and kicked out. Cheating shouldn't be tolerated in any competition regardless of the stakes or the nature of the competition. I don't understand people who cheat. Maybe I can understand someone who would cheat with thousands of dollars or even millions of dollars at stake. It doesn't make it right, but I can understand that people will try to cheat their way to a win when large sums are at stake. But when you are playing for pennies, or for just the satisfaction of the win, what is the point in risking getting caught? Fortunately for the rest of us, most cheaters are idiots and don't know how to cheat without making it obvious.

| | | | I would definitley say you did the right thing. I have heard of things like that. but never actually seen it done (to my knowledge). I find it somwhat reassuring that they e-mailed you back with what sounds like a real response (not computer generated).
I've also heard of people doing that at live games at the casino where they position their stack in a certain way or do somthing with their hands to signal their accomplice that they have the best hand.
Scary world out there, good luck.

Yes. You absolutely must inform them of cheaters....only way to get them booted. I have had to inform stars at least 1-2 times of various activities...including one blatant cheating attempt like your example. I have found Pokerstars to be VERY helpful and responsive.
Sounds like Absolute is too. THat's good.

| | | | I had same thing happen to me..I captured chat sent to absolute they sent same reply back... Yet 24 hours later same people still playing in game and still are today still playing. Does ap really do anything to ban them? I think not.
But love to play ap anyway

| | | | I agree I like your decision Sonny. Maybe having AP make a big deal out their rude play will encourage them to do better in the future. Could save them some serious troubles in a live game someday, never know.
I was playing AP micro once when I noticed 2 players seemed to be 'teaming up.' They both had the same town listed on their mouseovers so I asked them. Turned out they were mother and step-son. I asked if they were playing from the same house and they got nasty and said "it was only micro limits." I too had that same feeling like maybe I was being somewhat of an ass by reporting them but in hindsight, maybe that saved them from real trouble later. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread
